Preparing to Give Thanks, Part 2: Clothes Pin People

Although November has not yet started, it is never too early to start thinking about preparing for Thanksgiving.  Over the next few weeks, I will post some proven ideas that you can use for your own Thanksgiving based on what we have done in the past.

Today's post is a fun idea about how to personalize the Thanksgiving table.  A few years ago, LG decided to make a craft that matched each person who would be at the Thanksgiving table.  The craft was based on the Clothespin Clan craft from Crayola.  The only materials needed were:
  • Crayola Model Magic
  • Clothespins
  • Chenille Wire  (also called Pipe Cleaners, back in the day)
The details on how to make the craft can be found in this Crayola YouTube video.

I think that you could substitute the Model Magic for another product that would dry out.  Each of these figures could be placed at the table where each person will sit.  And you could also add place cards with each person's name.  If you really want to extend the craft, you can add another Crayola inspired craft--Triarama Place Cards which are essentially personalized backdrops for each figure.

Here are the results of her handiwork.  (I am the one on the far right.)

Next, Acorn Squash Candle Holders for a decoration with a natural look.
